We set up HBS after spending many hours searching for templates or software that could help the businesses manage their costs. It started with the development of a spreadsheet to carry out recipe costings that also had the ability to automatically work out the allergens and spiralled from there into a business.
During the lockdown period we saw hundreds of business struggling to stay in business with all the new rules and regulations that were being put into place, and we thought there must be something that can be done. So we set up HBS a hospitality consultancy with the aim to help all hospitality businesses put in place the procedure they needed to survive.
I started up Hospitality Business Solutions in 2020 with my partner Iain Corsie.
Prior to Hospitality Business Solutions I was the PA to Director / Office Manager at Aurora Bars and Restaurants and the Assistant Food and Beverage Controller at sketch, London. During my time at Aurora, I was originally hired to assist the Director with the day to day running of the back of house aspects of the business and stock control, this role developed into more of an accounts and human resource based job including: processing payroll for up to 40 employees, accurately processed supplier invoices and credit notices, reconciling both accounts and the bank and credit control
I am a graduate of Birmingham University College, where I majored in BA in Hospitality and Food Management. When I’m not keeping busy running HBS you can find me getting creative with my son.
I started up Hospitality Business Solutions in 2020 with my partner Emma Osborn.
Prior to Hospitality Business Solutions I was a general manager with over 20 years experience managing sites. I started my management career at 21 as the youngest licensee in the west end of London at the Salisbury, St Martins Lane. From then on I have worked at a variety of different businesses from independents to large chains, focusing on openings and rebrandings. In the last 5 years I have been focusing on stadiums and very large events.
I studied at De Montfort University, I am a PTLLS accredited trainer, WSET advanced certified as well as many other qualifications included through BII. When I’m not keeping busy running HBS you can find me rustling up goodies in the kitchen or drinking esoteric wines.
